On Thursday 20 November, we’re bringing together policymakers and senior leaders from across the housing sector, for our next LinkedIn Live event called Santander’s Fixing the Broken Chain Panel 2025. Angela Hesketh, Board Member at Open Property Data Association, David Morris, Santander Head of Homes and Samantha Partington, Freelance Property Journalist, will be hosting a timely debate to discuss the future of homeownership and the reforms needed to fix the market.
The event will also showcase findings from Santander’s new report, Fixing the Broken Chain, which reveals that the UK’s outdated home purchase system costs the economy £1.5 billion annually, with over half a million failed transactions and 23% of buyers experiencing a property chain collapse. The report calls for coordinated reform to modernise the process and strengthen the housing market for buyers and sellers alike. This will be followed by Q&As.
